What is
Learning with a Smile?

Learning with a Smile, LLC is a leading provider of executive functioning coaching across the Capital Region. With over ten years of experience in the counseling and academic coaching fields, I am well placed to help my clients grow and thrive.

I understand that executive functioning skills are necessary during students' academic careers and ultimately, they are predictors of success throughout life.  During sessions, students learn strategies to improve problem-solving, communication, organization, time management, study skills, and develop other related skills. Working adults hone these skills as they relate to the workplace as well as daily life.

My individualized strategies and custom-designed resources meet students’ individual needs and allow for growth once current goals are mastered. My team-based approach allows students to find their voice and have a stake in the process, ultimately teaching self-advocacy and boosting communication skills. By including students in the decision-making process, I am able to quickly able to build rapport and trust.

Clients’ comfort is my utmost priority during the coaching process because a feeling of safety ultimately leads to greater success as they learn, practice, and internalize their newly discovered skills. When clients are empowered and motivated, they face unlimited potential.

Kristine Brooks

Kristine taught my son the executive functioning skills he lacked due to his ADHD. Notebook management and assignment calendar strategies were key to his success in school. Kristine created a system for him to keep track of his completed and sometimes missing homework and plan ahead for larger papers and projects. He continues to use these organizational skills independently now that he is in college.
