How We Support

Core Executive Functioning Skills

We help clients develop foundational skills through supportive, one-on-one coaching tailored to their needs. We believe executive functioning can be taught, practiced, and strengthened with the right tools, systems, and encouragement.

Task Initiation

The ability to start tasks promptly, without excessive procrastination or avoidance. This includes overcoming mental resistance to getting started—even on simple tasks.

Planning and Prioritizing

Understanding how long tasks take, using time effectively, and being able to meet deadlines. This also includes managing transitions between tasks and routines.

Working Memory

Holding and manipulating information in your mind for short periods—such as remembering instructions or keeping track of what you’re doing while problem-solving.

Flexibility

Adapting to new information, changing circumstances, or unexpected challenges. It involves shifting approaches when something isn’t working, without getting stuck or overwhelmed.

Self-Monitoring

Assessing one’s own performance and adjusting as needed. This includes noticing mistakes, staying aware of progress, and evaluating whether a strategy is working.

Planning and Prioritizing

The capacity to set goals, break them into steps, and identify what needs to be done first. This includes deciding what matters most and how to allocate time and energy.

Organization

Keeping materials, digital files, workspaces, and schedules in order. Organization also refers to managing information in a way that’s easy to access and use.

Emotional Regulation

Managing emotions in order to stay calm, flexible, and productive, especially in the face of frustration or stress. This skill helps reduce reactivity and promote resilience.

Goal-Directed Persistence

Sticking with tasks or goals even when they’re difficult or progress is slow. This skill supports follow-through and long-term motivation.
